In observance of Araw ng Kagitingan (Day of Valor), April 9 commemorates the extraordinary courage, heroism, and sacrifice of the Filipino and American soldiers who fought during the Fall of Bataan in World War II.

Pursuant to Proclamation No. 1006, April 9, 2026 (Thursday) is declared a Regular (Non-Working) Holiday throughout the Philippines.
